“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” (Isa.30:21) This truly describes how I have felt throughout this short time of being here in Granada.  I stayed with Chris and Nicia the first couple of days at their home, and then after I was rested some, I went to meet Iveth, who I will be living with and to move into the apartment.
Friday morning I went to my first class, which was very hard at first because the teacher did not speak to us in English, and I had not been there long enough to even understand fully what was being said. So I went back to the apartment discouraged and frustrated. Later that evening Iveth and her friend from out of town asked if I wanted to go eat with them and later meet some more of Iveth’s friends.  It was such a great experience, Iveth and her friend from out of town spoke English and so we had a great time going out to eat. Then later when I met her friends who didn’t speak English they helped translate and even teach me small phrases. My spirits were lifted and I felt much better.
The rest of the weekend Iveth, her friend, and I went sightseeing, we walked all around the city, visiting La Alhambra and the Plaza de San Nicholas that overlooks La  Alhambra, it was so beautiful and such a good cultural experience.  Yesterday (Monday) I had another class session, and I understood so much more, which was really so encouraging to me. Then that evening I went to my first Mercadona (like a super-market) with Nicia and spent the evening at their house. Out of all the wonderful things that have been happening here though, I think the most wonderful of all was when I was talking to someone over here about missions and how it is hard to minister to people who can’t understand what you are saying, then the person said, well I understand and I really want to be your first pupil! I almost cried right there, God truly is so good, and I cannot wait to see all that He has in store! Thank you all for your prayers, they are definitely felt and needed!

Here at Last

I wanted to write just a quick post to say I am officially here!!!! Praise the Lord, He has been so very faithful to provide every step of the way! I flew into Madrid yesterday morning, and took a five and a half hour bus ride to Granada, where Chris and Nicia took me to their home so I could rest. It has been wonderful and everything has went so smoothly, it is incredible how God works out every detail. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." -Romans 8:28

"Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever. Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the LORD or fully declare His praise?" - Psalm 106"1-2

God is a God who Provides

If ever there was a time in my life that just flew by, these past few weeks would be it! So many things have happened so quickly I haven’t even had time to sit down and write about them. First I went on a trek to drop off my visa application at the Spanish Consulate in Chicago. This process went so well, there was no denying it was completely God orchestrated the entire time. Every step along the way, God placed someone there to help give us directions, or instructions, and even a very nice manager at the hotel we stayed at upgraded our room for free.  I left knowing that God had planned every one of my steps along the way.
Then in between that adventure and my next I found out some very very exciting news, I am 100% fully funded to go to Granada, Praise the Lord!! I was just so floored at God’s extravagant blessings, and His faithful provision!
So I went on to my next adventure so excited and beyond thankful. This next adventure was to go to training, which was wonderful and very encouraging.  I met so many people that had such a contagious passion to serve God and spread His Word all over the world.  I am so thankful I was able to meet the people I met and learn from some truly great women and men of God.
After getting home from training, I received even more good news; I was approved for my visa!  So I am preparing to go back to Chicago at the end of this week to pick it up.  Please pray for safe travel and everything to run smoothly.
Everything has just fallen right into place, in ways that only can be God working it all out, in His way and in His timing. So as of right now the timing is working out so that the goal leaving date is going to be the beginning of next week! Please pray that everything continues to work out the way God wants it, that I will continue to trust in Him for all my needs, and lean on His peace that passes all understanding.

“God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19

“Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.” Psalm 139:4-6
